Athletics Bay of Islands is currently running a 10-week athletics program with the aspiration of becoming a fully affiliated club. Our goal is to build a strong, sustainable athletics community across the Bay of Islands and we need your help to make it happen!
We’re looking for committee members and coaches who are passionate about creating fun, active opportunities for tamariki and rangatahi. Whether you have experience in athletics or simply enjoy being involved in your community, we’d love to hear from you.
Tuesdays Kerikeri Program:
Location: Springbank School
Juniors (3–11 years): 3.45 -5pm
Mondays Russell Program:
Location: Russell Sports Club
Juniors (3–14 years): 4.30 - 6pm
After a successful first season, Athletics Bream Bay is excited to return for its second year, with strong community interest and growing numbers of keen athletes.
Based at Bream Bay College, the club offers opportunities for athletes of all ages and abilities in a fun, supportive environment.

Our Run Jump Throw (RJT) program introduces tamariki under 11 to athletics through engaging activities that build confidence and fundamental movement skills. For athletes aged 12 and up, accredited coaching helps develop techniques and support progression in their chosen events.

Athletics Whangarei is a vibrant and welcoming Running and Track & Field club with access to a state-of-the-art all-weather track, the best facility in the region. The club caters to all ages and abilities, offering quality coaching and training programs throughout the season.

With a great mix of fun, skill-building, and competitive opportunities, there’s something for everyone, from young beginners to experienced athletes.

We’re excited to welcome Dargaville Athletics Club as a newly affiliated club this season! Based at Dargaville High School, the club has quickly become a hub of community energy and enthusiasm, with incredible local support helping athletics thrive once again in the area.

In its very first season, Dargaville Athletics has already seen over 100 juniors getting active and having fun through athletics a fantastic sign of things to come. The club provides a welcoming and inclusive environment where tamariki can develop their skills, make friends, and discover the joy of being active.
It’s an exciting time for athletics in Dargaville and this is just the beginning!
Hātea Run is a welcoming and inclusive running club based in Whangārei, catering to runners of all abilities. The club offers regular group runs, personalized training programs, and a supportive community for both competitive athletes and those running for fitness or fun. Weekly events include Wednesday morning and evening runs, as well as a popular Sunday long run. Hātea Run is dedicated to fostering a love for running while promoting health and community connection in Northland
Kaiwaka Athletics Club, proudly part of the Kaiwaka Sports Association, offers a fun and supportive environment for young athletes to get active and develop their skills.

The club has a strong focus on community and family involvement, with parents encouraged to stay and help during sessions making it a true team effort.

Located in the heart of Wellsford on Centennial Park Road, Wellsford Athletics Club is a welcoming, fully affiliated club offering opportunities for athletes aged 5 to 20 years.

As a community-run club, Wellsford Athletics relies on local support and more coaches and volunteers are needed to help keep the program running smoothly. If you’re passionate about sport or keen to get involved, your contribution can make a real difference.
