Since 2006, Athletics Northland has proudly supported the growth of athletics in our region, offering opportunities for all ages and disciplines—from kids athletics to masters, harriers, and senior track and field.
With seven affiliated athletics clubs (and more to come)—Athletics Bay of Islands, Eves Athletics Whangarei, Bayleys Athletics Bream Bay, Athletics Kaiwaka, Dargaville Athletics, Wellsford Athletics Club and Hatea Run—we’re dedicated to fostering growth and athletic excellence in Northland.
Our International grade all-weather track at Kensington Park has sparked significant growth and interest in athletics across the region. Whether you’re new to the 'Winterless North' or a long-time resident, we encourage you to visit one of our clubs. There’s always a club nearby to help you achieve your goals in running, jumping, or throwing, supported by expert coaching at every level—from grassroots to international performance.
Athletics provides a solid foundation for athletes of all sports, with many elite team players using athletics to develop their speed, strength, and agility.
Northland has a proud history of producing top-level athletes, with several competing overseas on scholarships and representing New Zealand on the world stage. We also support schools through coaching and officiating workshops to help teachers enhance their athletics programs.
